I am currently the longest serving District Court Judge in the 26th
Judicial District (Mecklenburg County). I was appointed and elected to the District Court bench in 1998. I have presided in every District Court including Criminal, Civil, Juvenile, Criminal and Civil Domestic Violence,
Child Support, Administrative, Involuntary Commitment and Domestic Courts. I was selected by a former Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court to serve on the Judicial
Study Committee to design training for District Court Judges and to the Media
and Courts Forum to educate the Media regarding court-related matters.
I have 14 years of criminal and civil practice in state and federal courts as:
Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate Degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
